Sunflower

Sunflowers are lovely to look at and sunflower seeds are good to eat.

Sunflower seeds are fantastic for our diet:
they are the oily seeds with the lowest calorie count,
rich in vitamins, a source of magnesium and iron,
they lower cholesterol, they’re anti-inflammatory,
and they’re even beneficial to women thanks to their abundant folic acid.
If all this information has given you a headache,
eat a few sunflower seeds. They soothe headaches too.

What a story!

Sunflowers originated in South America,
but the name is Greek: “helios” and “anthos” mean sun and flower.

There are 70 different sunflower species and each sunflower
